Doreen Marcial Poreba, PBG Inspiring Homes Columnist & Contributing Writer, APR, is an award-winning, accredited public relations professional with more than 25 years of experience working on both sides of the media fence. She launched her career as a television news reporter in Ohio, and, after working for several news and PR outfits, she founded The PR Czar® Inc., a full-service public relations and photography business in Stuart. Additionally, Poreba is a freelance writer for Home & Design magazine, Hobe Sound magazine, The Palm Beach Post and the Treasure Coast Business Journal.
She has gained valuable insight into the home and design and real estate industries in working with her clients. Poreba’s extensive experience makes her an excellent choice as the magazine’s Inspiring Homes columnist. Poreba has represented the West Palm Beach Home & Garden Show at the South Florida Fairgrounds since 2003 and has written about dozens of new products and services. She also has represented realtors and builders and written numerous articles about home improvement.
As a marketing communications expert, Poreba has earned the credibility and respect of local, regional and national media. Her professional achievements include directing multi-media campaigns that resulted in positive print, broadcast and online feature stories; managing nationally-recognized marketing and advertising campaigns; creating promotions that accomplished both financial expectations and customer service goals; generating corporate sponsorship programs; establishing effective community outreach partnerships; and writing, editing, and proofing grants, speeches, broadcast scripts, news releases, articles and publications. Poreba also provides her clients with outstanding technological skills including videography and photography.
After graduating magna cum laude from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, Poreba began her career as a news reporter with WYTV, an ABC affiliate in Youngstown, Ohio, and WPEC, a CBS affiliate in West Palm Beach, Florida. Her PR career spans both the corporate world and nonprofit sector, having worked for The Miami Herald Publishing Company, Northwood University, and SunFest, Florida’s largest music, art and waterfront festival.
As the recipient of more than 50 awards, Poreba has been recognized by the Florida Public Relations Association, International Festivals & Events Association, Florida Festivals & Events Association and Women in Communications, Inc.
