Margie Kaye, Special Features Writer
Margie Kaye, Special Features Writer, became a journalist after spending twenty years in advertising sales with the Miami Herald and Advo Direct Mail. Armed with a quick wit, gift of gab, and unique approach to client campaigns, she realized that her success as a top producer was as much due to her creativity as her tenacity. Working directly with the advertising agencies that represented her client base of local and national accounts, Margie was inspired to submerge herself in the copywriting aspect of the business in lieu of continued years spent pounding the pavement clad in pumps in the ferocious Miami heat.
Motherhood became one of the few deadlines that Kaye nearly missed. However, shortly after turning 41 (and just one day after resigning from her sales position) her first child was born. She and her husband nicknamed him “Special Kaye.” A baby brother added to the later-in-life parenting whirlwind, serving as an endless source of inspiration and humorous writing material.
With both sons now in school, Kaye maintains her sanity and zest for artistic expression by writing features, human interest stories, and personality profiles for various award-winning regional lifestyle publications, including the Boca Raton Observer and Ocean Drive Magazine. Regular freelance assignments with Boca Raton’s premier public relations firm provide Kaye a unique insight into various genres of business (from retail and entertainment to B2B organizations and healthcare), the social and philanthropic scene, as well as the vital missions of the multitude of specialized nonprofit organizations serving South Florida.
A newcomer to the Palm Beach Gardens scene, Kaye looks forward to exploring this vibrant city and sharing her journalistic journey with PBG Lifestyle.
