Michelle Kaplan, Contributing Writer, is an award-winning freelance writer and has contributed to numerous publications including the Sun-Sentinel, Syracuse New Times, Patriot Ledger, and Hometown News. Originally from Boston, she is a graduate of Northeastern University where she majored in Journalism. Kaplan is a huge Red Sox fan, so she truly understands broken dreams, heartache and how to “just ignore” people who wear New York Yankee hats – instead of verbally abusing them. When she’s not cleaning up juice box spills and the sticky fingers of her two children, Emily and Joshua, she enjoys openly criticizing politicians, but most of all spending time with her husband and soul mate, Michael, who just happens to be a New York Yankee fan – alas, everyone has at least one flaw.

Writing everything from community news to hard-hitting investigative pieces, Kaplan has a special knack for writing personal profiles and has interviewed such celebrities as Howie Mandel, Kathleen Madigan, Bo Diddley, Dick Smothers, Charo, Lindsey Buckingham and Robby Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls, just to name a few. Kaplan, offers a fresh, perhaps skewed perspective on the everyday. Catch her Blog: www.michelle-kaplan.com
