20TH ANNUAL BOOK FESTIVAL LUNCHEON ON NOV. 19
Nicole Mones to discuss latest book, Night in Shanghai
The Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches celebrates its 20th Annual Book Festival with a signature luncheon at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. Award-winning author Nicole Mones will discuss her new novel, Night in Shanghai, as guests enjoy a delicious plated lunch. The event will also feature a silent auction, book fair and artist demonstration. The highly anticipated luncheon is chaired by Gayle Gross, Lois Steinberg and Andee Sussman. Honorary Chairs are Marilyn Lampert z”l and Zelda Mason.
The Book Festival Luncheon will feature a discussion on Mones’ latest historical fiction, Night in Shanghai. The novel, which is based on true events, recounts three untold stories: the saga of American jazz men in Shanghai, the saving of thousands of Jewish lives by Chinese Consul Ho Feng-Shan, and the story of the Chinese government’s attempt to save 100,000 more Jewish lives by establishing a permanent resettlement zone for Jews next to Burma.

The Mandel JCC’s 20th Annual Book Festival, which features 26 book events over a seven-month period from November 19, 2014 through May 13, 2015. The Annual Book Festival brings award-winning authors from all over the world to Palm Beach County to discuss their latest works. Events range from educational discussions to a ladies night out, which are held at both Mandel JCC locations in Palm Beach Gardens and Boynton Beach, as well as venues and homes around the county.
