On Thursday, July 7th 2011 from 5:30-7:00 the Norton Museum of Palm Beach, Florida will be presenting Debbie Lee Mostel as she gives a demonstration of her current art work: “Technology Deconstructed/Nature Reconstructed” series.

Guests at this event will witness the disassembly of computers, VCR’s, keyboards & TV Flickers. Hammers, screw guns, cutters and dremel drills will be used. Upon exposing the “innards” of these familiar electronic products, Mostel will display them as intricate objets d’art. The audience will then be encouraged to participate in selection and layout of elements—thus creating a “group” piece.
The 2nd part of the evenings’ demonstration will be an audience participation that involves several of her finished pieces. Since each piece contains many parts (some moving) the audience will be asked to play “Can You Find Me?” For instance, in her piece “Deconstructing Marilyn”, guests will be asked to find Andy Warhol, 16 Jackie O’s, a broken VCR Clock, 3 heat sinks from a PCU. A prize will be awarded!!
