In honor of a quarter century of service to its community, Caridad Center will host “Celebrate 25 Years of Caridad” on Saturday, January 10th, 2015 at The International Polo Club in Wellington. The gala event will begin at 6 p.m. and includes cocktails, dinner, a live auction and dancing with music by City Lights. Some of the auction items include a seasonal membership to the International Polo Club, a day of deep sea fishing with Captain John Jolly and polo lessons for six followed by an Argentine Asado. Tickets are $250.00 per person.
Caroline Moran will chair the event, and host committee members include Sanjiv Sharma and Nadine Allen, Mary Lou Bedford, Connie Berry, Julian D. Hudson, Paul Archacki, Gary and Penny Kosinski, Bob and Meghan Kraut, Bill and Sugar McCauley, Caroline Moran, Chip and Debbie Perkins, Rick and Susan Retamar, Bob and Janie Souaid, Marie Speed and Luis and Sonia Torres.
All proceeds from the evening will benefit Caridad Center, the largest free healthcare clinic operated through volunteer providers in the state of Florida, serving the working poor and recently uninsured throughout Palm Beach County. More than 400 doctors, dentists and other medical professionals donate their time and provide services valued at over $3.2 million a year. Caridad Center provides more than 26,000 patient visits each year, bypassing costly emergency room visits, which saves Palm Beach County taxpayers an estimated $5.1 million annually.
In addition to medical services, Caridad Center provides college scholarships, baby supplies, crisis intervention services, back-to-school supplies, and the Adopt-a-Family program during the holidays.
