Glam-A-THON™ Announces 2014 Glam Doll Strut
A fabulous team fundraiser to assist local women battling breast cancer
The streets of Fort Lauderdale will turn up the pink at the most fun and fashionable fundraiser of the year, the Glam Doll Strut. Teams will dress to impress as they show off their utterly creative team names, attire, and skits in an attempt to wow the celebrity judging panel for a chance to win a glamorous Glam-A-THON™ crown! This year the four teams that raise the most funds through registration and donations will be crowned Glam Queens and Kings of Glam-A-THON™ 2014. Participation requires a $45 minimum donation per person to join. Every registered strutter will receive an exclusive Glam-A-THON™ Tote bag to fill with fare and fashion in the Vendor Village. Shimmy, shake, and sashay on down to the sexiest strut of the season!
Who:Glam-A-THON™, a breast cancer nonprofit dedicated to helping women in the South Florida community and Tammy Gail, Glam-A-THON™ founder and 10-year breast cancer survivor, will be available for comment on the events and the partnerships.
Why: All funds raised through Glam-A-THON™ benefit the Broward Health Foundation, the fundraising arm of Broward Health. Assistance is given to underinsured and uninsured women in the South Florida area to receive lifesaving, early diagnostic testing and mammograms, while those battling breast cancer receive financial assistance including transportation, Medebras, and other often overlooked, yet vital lifestyle needs.
Glam-A-THON™, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is a sustainable, dynamic breast cancer charity dedicated to helping families, friends and neighbors in South Florida. They differentiate their efforts with style, sass, and glamorous heels. The goal is to take the fear out of breast cancer and mobilize women to make a difference in their community. Glam-A-THON™ is an event series consisting of the Glam Doll Strut™, a quarter-mile walk, the Lipstick Lounge, a night of cocktails, confections, cosmetics and couture and other events.
