HAOCHEN ZHANG, Piano
In 2009, the 19-year-old Haochen Zhang became the youngest participant and the first Chinese Gold Medalist at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Zhang moved to the U.S. in 2005 to attend the Curtis Institute of Music. The next year, he made his Philadelphia Orchestra debut in Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto. In 2010, he played his New York City recital debut in Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival.
