Palm Beach Opera is excited to announce the 2015 Seduction of the Senses Gala Recital and Dinner with Ildar Abdrazakov on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at The Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach. Sponsorships and tickets are available. For more information or to make a reservation, please contact Lisa Huertas at 561.835.7558.
The black tie event will feature poolside cocktails, a private recital by internationally renowned bass Ildar Abdrazakov, followed by a three course sit-down dinner. Palm Beach Opera’s Board of Directors Chairman, Dennis Williams and his wife Roseanne are the Co-Chairs. Honorary Host Chairs are Melania and Donald Trump, and the Mar-a-Lago Member Sponsor is Arlette Gordon.
Since making his La Scala debut in 2001 at 25, the Russian singer has become a mainstay at leading houses worldwide, including New York’s Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna State Opera, and Munich’s Bavarian State Opera. His powerful yet refined voice coupled with his compelling stage presence have prompted critics to hail him as a “sensational bass…who has just about everything – imposing sound, beautiful legato, oodles of finesse” (The Independent). Also an active concert artist, he has performed at London’s BBC Proms and at New York’s Carnegie Hall, as well as with leading international orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony and Vienna Philharmonic.
On September 22, 2014, Abdrazakov headlined the gala opening of the Met’s 2014-15 season in the title role in a new Sir Richard Eyre production of Le Nozze di Figaro under the baton of James Levine. Abdrazakov’s debut solo album, Power Players, a celebration of the great Russian bass roles, was released in early 2014 on Delos, to great critical acclaim.
