Six Portraits of Honorees by Artist & Benefit Founder Renee Plevy Will Be Unveiled at the Inaugural Luncheon
The inaugural Portrait of a Woman Spring Luncheon will be held at a private club in Palm Beach on Thursday, March 22, at 11:30 a.m. “The goal of this new charitable event is to raise much needed funds for Quantum House while honoring some incredible local ladies during Women’s History Month,” says benefit founder Renee D. Plevy, who is also a celebrated portrait artist.
“This event is our way of saluting special women from throughout Palm Beach County for their major long-term contributions to our overall community, as well as to individuals, businesses, civic organizations and charities,” agrees event Co-Chair Bobbi Shorr. “Tickets are only $125, and sponsorship opportunities are available.”
The ladies being recognized at the Portrait of a Woman Spring Luncheon are Grand Honoree Dorothy Sullivan and individual honorees Bobbi Horwich, Lynda Levitsky, Jacie Keeley, Sherry Frankel and Dr. Maria M. Vallejo.
“In addition, the luncheon will honor special Matriarchs, or women of that special age who we wish to emulate and honor for their decades of charitable works,” adds Plevy. “The Grand Honorary Matriarch is the Countess Henrietta de Hoernle. The other Matriarchs being honored are role models for younger women involved in charitable causes. They have achieved a legacy in their community – a sense of tradition. They inspire!”
“Our goal is to have all parts of Palm Beach County represented by special Matriarchs. Helen Babione represents South County and Suzy Minkoff represents the Palm Beaches,” says Plevy.
Portrait of a Woman is honoring woman in a truly unique and very personal way, by unveiling six original oil portraits of the honorees. Throughout the year, these portraits will be displayed at venues that have significance in the lives of the Honorees. Annually, portraits of new Honorees will be added to this Portrait of a Woman series, visually enhancing the legacy of these special women of Palm Beach County.
Renowned portrait artist and businesswoman Renee Plevy conceived this unique way to recognize the dedication of these women by painting a special portrait of each Honoree. Her 35 years of expertise painting notables is brilliantly displayed in these portraits that show the unique soul of these remarkable women.
“We are raising monies to support Quantum House, a nonprofit hospital hospitality house, the only facility of its kind between Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, Florida. Quantum House was established in May 2001 to provide a caring and supportive home that lessens the burden for families whose children are receiving treatment in Palm Beach County for a serious medical condition,” says Plevy.
Committee members for the first Portrait of a Woman Spring Luncheon include Lani Click, Lina Blanco Jankus, Maya Johnson, Roberta Jurney, Peggy Kelleher and Patricia Turner.
Tickets for the luncheon can be purchased online at www.QuantumHouse.org – Events Page, or by calling (561) 494-0515.
