Uma Thurman, 2010 Ambassador for Saks Fifth Avenue’s Key To The Cure

Uma Thurman Key to the Cure Ambassador Saks Fifth Ave

The beautiful and talented actress Uma Thurman served as this year’s spokes-model and 2010 Ambassador for Saks Fifth Avenue’s Key To The Cure, a national program raising money and awareness for women’s cancers.

In support of this program, Thurman has been appearing in a national public service announcement (PSA) wearing the limited edition T-shirt, designed by highly acclaimed fashion designer Donna Karan, shot by renowned photographer Fabrizio Ferri.

“Everyone I know has been affected by breast cancer one way or the other,” said Thurman. “It is vital that we work toward a cure as well as develop more accurate and advanced testing. I am proud to be a part of Key To The Cure and look forward to the day we can say breast cancer is no longer a life threat to women.”

An actress noted as much for her exotic, almost otherworldly beauty as she is for her considerable talent, Uma Thurman is one of the most renowned actors of her generation. Now 40, she has appeared in several important films during her illustrious career like “Les Miserables,” “Get Shorty” and “The Producers,” along with Tarantino classics Kill Bill (Vol. 1 & 2)” and “Pulp Fiction.”

Saks began offering the attractive Key To The Cure commemorative T-shirt October 1, which is retailing for $35 in Saks stores, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH stores and on www.saks.com. All proceeds garnered through the sales of these shirts will be donated to local charity partners.

Here in the Northern Palm Beaches, the Jupiter Medical Center acts as Saks’ local charity partner. Together, they co-hosted a huge charity-shopping weekend October 21 – 24, with a percentage of the sales benefitting the fight against cancer.

The event takes place each fall in Saks Fifth Avenue stores nationwide and benefits organizations like the Jupiter Medical Center’s Ella Milbank Foshay Cancer Center, which concentrates on the treatment and research of women’s reproductive cancers.
