Water’s dirty little secrets

aquathin-header

Water is one of life’s most essential needs. We need it for pretty much everything in order to live a comfortable life. We are very lucky to live in a country where water is available and accessible in most homes. In other areas of the world, people often share from a single source of water, and most illnesses in these less developed countries are the due to the lack of clean water.

While the United States has standards for drinking water, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the water from your tap will meet your standards. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is responsible for regulating the contaminants allowed in our drinking water. The agency is currently considering raising the number of contaminants under the Clean Water Act. Unfortunately, with pollution becoming an increasingly worrisome issue and the infrastructure of most cities in decline, there are many unknown contaminants that sneak into the water supply and into our bodies.

Bottled water may seem like a good solution, but when you consider the chemicals used to create the plastic containing it, one has to wonder how much of those chemicals you ingest. It is known that Bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical used in the manufacturing of plastic bottles, becomes toxic when heated and has been known to cause hormonal changes in animals. Florida’s hot and humid climate makes that a major concern. So what’s the best way to protect your family and yourself from unwanted health invaders? Most experts agree that a multi-barrier filtration system such as Aquathin’s Reverse Osmosis with DeIonization (RODI) is best, and with life needing so much water, best is essential and not optional.
